Expect a Full Moon tonight! Here's a fun tidbit: According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, "the June Full Moon is called the Full Strawberry Moon. This Full Moon got its name from the Algonquin tribes who knew it as a signal to gather the ripening fruit of wild strawberries. It has also been known as the Honey Moon, Mead Moon, and the Full Rose Moon in Europe." In this weeks CSA, you can expect garlic scapes, summer squash, beets and greens, Fun Yen Chinese cabbage, radishes, and greens! Image credit to Getty, from www.express.co.uk

What to expect in your share this week...
![]() Next week will be the first CSA delivery! We still haven't finalized what veggies will be available, so it will just have to be a surprise! We will email everyone early next week with directions to the pick up location (same as last year). Pickup will be on Thursdays between 8AM and 4PM. Coolers and any instructions will be in Tracy's car and you can just help yourself when you have a moment. So keep an eye on your inbox next week! Sorry everyone but we are postponing our open house. It is supposed to rain and it would be quite muddy. We will reschedule soon when the garden beds are bigger and the paths are drier!
We are having our first OPEN HOUSE at the farm on May 20th from 10-4. Take a Sunday drive, come visit, have a snack, and say hello! There is even an option to plant if you choose, or just stroll through the garden beds and high tunnel. Everyone is welcome! The high tunnel has finally dried out enough to plant. All the seedlings that were grown in a greenhouse are being transplanted. Now we're just waiting for the fields to catch up! There is still lots to do and Micah spends every moment he can tilling, planting, weeding, and removing rocks from the beds. Tracy works away from home during the week, but occasionally she can help out. In the photo above, she is helping lay plastic. The plastic keeps the weeds down and ultimately saves hours of weeding time. The plastic is recycled and reused the next year.
Although we are anticipating a Nor'easter later this week, it looks like spring inside our home. The house has been taken over by seedling trays and giant bags of potting mix! The temperature in the high tunnel is averaging 55 degrees F. Spring is just around the corner. We're really looking forward to warms days and new growth.
Our summer sign up has begun. We're super excited to work with new customers and are so thankful for our returning ones. Our 2017 season was such a great success and we're looking forward to another bountiful season! If you would like to sign up for a farm share, please visit our CSA page for details, or go directly to Contact Us and fill out the contact form.
